Eva Kahn
Designer
Eva holds a Master of Landscape Architecture (2025) and a Bachelor of Arts in Planning, Public Policy, and Management (2019) from the University of Oregon, with coursework and research in cultural and productive landscapes, city planning, and ecology.
Eva grew up among the dappled green forests of the Pacific Northwest and developed a deep love of plants and ecology early in life. Before graduate school, she worked in community engagement, helping develop sustainable food systems in rural Oregon.
During her graduate studies, Eva worked alongside planners and resource managers from the National Park Service on Cultural Landscape Reports at Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico and the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park in Maryland. Eva studied ecological design in relation to predatory-bird habitat and the reutilization of wood waste on the Overlook Farm in Pennsylvania as part of the Fuller Initiative for Productive Landscapes (FIPL).
She was the recipient of several awards, including a 2023 CELA student awards Honorable Mention for her group project, Eugene’s Zinc Sink, and both a 2024 ASLA Honor Award and 2024 ASLA Oregon Award for her work on the Letitia Carson Legacy Project. For her master’s project, she collaborated with the Portland Botanical Garden on a vision for transforming a remediated Superfund site into an ecological and civic asset for Portland’s waterfront. Eva worked as an intern at Nelson Byrd Woltz before joining the team.
