
Mark Strieter, PLA, ASLA
Principal
Mark joined NBW in the spring of 2011. He has designed and managed a wide range of projects across the United States and abroad, from complex urban projects such as Hudson Yards in New York City to comprehensive landscape planning for rural cultural institutions in California.
He received his Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Among several honors, he was awarded the Kluesing Prize for Art in Landscape Architecture, the ASLA Honor Award, and the ASLA National Design Competition. He has also received numerous professional awards.
Mark’s professional career has focused on revitalizing and interpreting complex cultural sites and ecological systems. Utilizing a research-based approach, he creates beautiful and functional design solutions for projects that are culturally responsive and ecologically sustainable.
Currently, Mark and his team are working on a variety of significant cultural, public, and conservation agriculture landscapes, including The Metropolitan Museum’s Tang Wing for Modern and Contemporary Art in NYC, Vizcaya House and Gardens in Miami FL, Filoli Gardens in Woodside CA, the Shaker Museum in Mt. Lebanon NY, and conservation agriculture estate projects in Santa Barbara CA, and Dutchess County NY.
