Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects was charged with envisioning a site design for Under Armour’s new Global Headquarters in Baltimore. This high-performance campus will restore the ecology of the Middle Branch shoreline, recalling the industrial spirit of productivity and innovation while celebrating the rich cultural history of Baltimore and the Under Armour brand. Working in close collaboration with the planning team (BCJ Architects and BuroHappold Engineering), NBW crafted a master plan that will unfold over four stages keeping in-line with the growth of the company. Building on Under Armour’s cutting-edge technology and commitment to Baltimore, the master plan carefully weaves beautiful and functional outdoor spaces through a campus focused on collaboration and innovation. By using a common site-based design language, landscapes constructed in different phases will be stitched together into one comprehensive and cohesive campus that will support and reflect the Under Armour brand, core values, and mission.
