Mike Kittrell

Senior Designer

Mike Joined Nelson Byrd Woltz in 2022.  He received his Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Georgia. 

Mike has over nineteen years of experience as a Landscape Architect, spending much of his career in the low country of Charleston, South Carolina. His approach is inspired by the combination of thoughtful design, cultural narrative and ecological discovery. He has managed and worked on a wide range of project types including the Conceptual Master Plan for the Low Country Lowline, the revitalization of the Charleston International Airport Campus and the Colonial Lake Renovation. 

Current work at NBW includes the restoration of the Nina Simone House in North Carolina, the Angel Oak Preserve in Charleston, SC, conservation agriculture projects in Northern VA and Southern CA, and the Shaker Museum restoration in upstate New York.
