Established in 1934, Berkshire Botanical Garden is one of the oldest public display gardens in the Northeast. Since its founding, the Garden has emphasized education and inspiration, with a particular focus on serving and engaging the surrounding community.
Over time, the Garden expanded beyond its original footprint to encompass more than 20 acres. In early 2019, Berkshire Botanical Garden acquired an additional five-acre adjacent site and engaged NBW to develop a comprehensive master plan for the newly enlarged campus—one intended to support expanded outreach, programming, and visitation.
NBW’s work focuses on improving circulation and access, creating new and expanded garden collections and facilities, and strengthening the representation of regional habitat types. The master plan is designed to enhance the visitor experience while improving day-to-day operations, positioning Berkshire Botanical Garden to deepen its long-standing commitment to horticultural excellence, beauty, and the responsible stewardship of the natural environment.
